The LED Tennis Court Lighting Solution – Play Year Round!
If you want high-spec LED tennis court lighting, you want a product that’s been designed specifically for that purpose.
IVision lighting understand the need for tight areas to be illuminated for the optimal playing experience i.e. where lighting must be focused but equally distributed.
We often associate tennis as a game played during the bright summer months, but with the heat too much for some players and distracting harsh sun, after dark can seem like an appealing option too.
If you’re resorting to playing at night, you want it to feel like you’re playing in the day.
The exact same can be said for sport field lighting – take winter athletics training? The last thing people want during their training session is to feel like they’ve had light-glare in the eyes after a couple of hours.
It should feel natural.
The idea behind our LED lighting design is to match the lighting as close as possible to the natural light of day. Whether indoors or outdoors, night or day, it needs to be a high-level light required to provide optimal conditions for tennis.
With consistent light available, it ensures players have the best vision to play at the very top of their game.
However, with traditional, non-LED lighting, lights can begin to fade and flicker, leaving playing conditions sub-par, but more importantly, dangerous and distracting to players and athletes alike.
So unless you’re changing your traditional lighting regularly (e.g. high pressure sodium technology), it can become very off-putting to both players and spectators. Everyone wants spectators to come back to the courts!
Tennis court lighting such as LED-powered lighting ensure tennis balls, court lines and opponents are seen with great clarity, therefore enhancing the player’s experience.
It’s important for tennis court lighting to have evenly-spread illumination and a daylight colour temperature. This way, tennis can be played day or night for a great experience and a better game.
Today, both indoor and outdoor tennis court lighting is required to be efficient – and why wouldn’t it be? Hours and hours of lighting each week would otherwise use an extortionate amount of energy.
Outside in residential areas, you want lighting to be focused inside the courts – especially at night. Our LEDs can illuminate specific areas i.e. the courts themselves and players, without unwanted spread into close-by surrounding areas.
This should give you an idea of the lighting requirements for tennis courts – notably the need for LED energy-efficient lighting in sports today. Our LED tennis court flood lights provide a more reliable, powerful and a versatile light source.
